# Keeplit privacy statement

**Keeplit collects no data.**

- It has no telemetry, analytics, crash reporting, accounts or ads.
- It never connects to the internet. It has no update check and sends nothing anywhere.
- Everything it stores stays on your PC, in `%LOCALAPPDATA%\Keeplit`:
  - `settings.json`: your choices (display option, power safeguards, closed-lid options, last session length, and whether the one-time tray tip was shown).
  - `lid-recovery.json`: exists only while closed-lid mode has changed Windows' lid-close action. It holds your original setting so it can be put back, and is deleted afterwards.
- Launch at sign-in is a normal shortcut in your Startup folder. Turning the option off deletes it.

Keeplit reads two things from Windows: the power status (plugged in or battery level) and your power plan's lid-close action. It changes the lid-close action only during closed-lid sessions that you turn on, and always restores it afterwards.

Uninstalling Keeplit removes the program and its shortcuts. To also remove your settings, delete the `%LOCALAPPDATA%\Keeplit` folder.
